Brownies with Walnuts

This is one of the popular recipes since brownies were the range during the early nineties. From the original rectangular baking pan, we can use also an 8-inche square pan to bake so that it will also have an impressive height.

Things you need:

1 cup butter
120 grams of unsweetened baking chocolate or cocoa
2 cups granulated white sugar
4 eggs
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup sifter all-purpose flour
1 tsp. sifted baking powder
½ tsp. fine salt
1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts

Procedure:

1.   Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line your pan with wax paper and set aside.
2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and the chocolate together in a low heat. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon or a spatula. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and allow it to cool down.
3. After it is cooled. Add the sugar, the corn syrup and the vanilla extract to the melted chocolate.  Beat it with a wooden spoon until well blended.
4. Add the eggs one at a time and mix. Add the flour, baking powder and the salt. Mix well until all combined.
5. Transfer your brownie mixture into the pan. Place the chopped walnuts into the surface of the brownie.
6. Place it on the oven and baked for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
7.  Allow the brownie to cool down and removed it on the pan. It is now ready to serve.

This version is tricky and it is important for you to work quickly. Form into balls only what can be accommodated in the oven. Keep the rest in the freezer. Baked them immediately and you will be able to make crinkles that are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

Thing you need:

2 cups of granulated white sugar
120 grams of unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
½ cup corn oil or melted butter
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
4 whole eggs
2 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup sifted powdered sugar or confectioners’ sugar for tolling

Procedure

1.      Using a wooden spoon beat together the sugar, corn oil, melted chocolate and vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
2.    Mix the flour baking powder and salt.
3.    Freeze the mixture for at least an hour or until it became firm and easy to handle
4.    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
5.    Line the cookie sheet with an aluminum foil, the shiny side down. Baking paper can also be used.
6.    Form the batter into a ball. Roll in powdered sugar and arrange it on the cookie sheet leaving 2 inches space in between the cookies.
7.    Bake the cookies immediately for 10 to 12 minutes or until the surface of the cookies have cracked.
8.    Allow the cookies to cool down and transfer them to a wax paper lined cooling racks.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chopped pecans, optional
  • Confectioners' sugar, optional

Directions:

  • In a microwave, melt butter and chocolate; stir until smooth. Cool slightly. In a large bowl, beat sugar and eggs. Stir in vanilla and chocolate mixture. Combine flour and salt; gradually add to chocolate mixture. Stir in pecans if desired.
  • Spread into two greased 8-in. square baking pans. Bake at 325° for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired. Cut into bars.
